Geneva gathers a large community of UN agencies, state representatives, non-governmental and civil society organisations, academic institutions, health-oriented private companies and other entities. The city offers unique opportunities for dialogue that can strategically influence decision-makers and promote health and human rights globally. The International Geneva Global Health Platform promotes exchanges, discussions and collaborations through convening global health leaders and actors around thematic events that are hybrid (both in-person and online) or fully online. A variety of formats are used, such as moderated panel discussions, debates, conversations, workshops, an panel presentations.

On 26 April 2023, the GHC’s International Geneva Global Health Platform organised a panel discussion on the theme: “Averting a collision course? Beyond the pandemic instrument and the International Health Regulations (IHR)”. About us: The Global Health Centre (GHC) is an interdisciplinary research, education, and convening centre of excellence based in the Geneva Graduate Institute. Founded in 2008, the GHC provides a better understanding of the shifting power balance in global health through academic analysis, contributing to the capacity building of decision-makers, government representatives, international organisations and other stakeholders such as civil society and the private sector. By affirming itself as a leading research centre in global health worldwide, the GHC broadens understanding, contributes to setting agendas and fosters inclusive partnerships. The International Geneva Global Health Platform seeks to promote exchanges, discussions and collaborations in order to improve health policies at the global level. The Platform aims to facilitate the assimilation and sharing of knowledge in the health field and better equip the future generation of health leaders. Through the Platform, the GHC engages with a wide-range of actors and acts as a laboratory of global health innovation. Our annual Geneva Health Week took place from 21 to 25 May 2023 at the Geneva Graduate Institute (@genevagraduateinstitute), which included the Open Briefing to the 76th World Health Assembly (WHA) and four WHA side events. On Thursday 25 May 2023, the GHC’s International Geneva Global Health Platform co-organised with Health Policy Watch, the Clean Air Fund (@cleanairfund5250), and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) (@ClimateCleanAirCoalition), its fourth and last WHA side event on the theme: “Breathing Life with Clean Air Action: Civil Society Drives Change”.
